Roles & Responsibilities

span>Job Summary:br> /span>We are seeking a Procurement and Logistics Officer to manage all aspects of procurement and logistics for Ecocoast s projects. This role requires a candidate with substantial hands-on experience in purchasing for contracting or manufacturing companies, ideally within the marine or industrial sectors. The ideal candidate should possess strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of international trade, and the ability to source materials from global markets such as China and India./p>

The Procurement and Logistics Officer will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day purchasing and logistics operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing, shipment, and delivery of materials to support ongoing projects.br> /p>

Key Responsibilities/p>

Procurement & Sourcing:/p>

  • Manage day-to-day procurement activities, including RFQs (Request for Quotations), price comparisons, and supplier evaluations.
  • Source high-quality materials and equipment locally and globally, with a particular focus on China and India.
  • Prepare and issue RFQs, negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment conditions.
  • Ensure procurement complies with project timelines and specifications.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of quotations, contracts, and purchase history.

Vendor & Contract Management:/p>

  • Build and maintain relationships with local and international trading companies and suppliers.
  • Conduct negotiations to achieve cost-effective deals while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assess supplier performance regularly and manage vendor procurement strategies.

Logistics & Customs Expertise:/p>

  • Coordinate transportation, shipping, and customs clearance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with incoterms (International Commercial Terms) and international shipping standards.
  • Oversee import/export procedures, ensuring smooth customs clearance.
  • Manage inventory levels, storage, and warehousing.

Market & Industry Awareness:/p>

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global markets, especially trading companies in China, India, and other regions.
  • Source materials efficiently from international suppliers, leveraging industry networks.
  • Monitor currency fluctuations, trade tariffs, and import-export regulations affecting procurement activities.

Excel & Administrative Skills:/p>

  • Utilize strong Excel skills to prepare price comparisons, procurement reports, and data analysis.
  • Organize and manage procurement documentation, contracts, and logistics records.

  • Keep abreast of updates in trade regulations, shipping policies, and logistics best practices.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure procurement and logistics support project schedules effectively.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification & Experience: /p>

  1. Proven hands-on experience in procurement and logistics roles in contracting or manufacturing companies, preferably with experience in marine contracting, manufacturing, or similar industrial sectors.
  2. Solid understanding of logistics operations including shipping, customs clearance, and inventory management.
  3. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contracting, and vendor management.
  4. Proficient in Excel, especially in preparing price comparisons, RFQ analysis, and data management.
  5. Good communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  7. Comprehensive understanding of trading companies both locally and globally.
  8. Knowledge of relevant software and ERP systems is a plus.
