Roles & Responsibilities
Procurement Manager
Work Location: DIP 2 - Dubai
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end sourcing and procurement lifecycle for all raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and indirect supplies required for Notions Group chocolate, chocodate manufacturing operations in the UAE. This role drives cost optimization, supplier reliability, and material quality while ensuring
seamless alignment with R&D, Quality, Production, and Private Label teams.
Role Summary
The position demands strong commercial acumen, deep category knowledge of ingredients and packaging, and the agility to operate in a fast-paced FMCG environment. The Procurement Manager will develop
robust supplier networks, negotiate strategic contracts, manage import cycles, monitor global pricing trends, and ensure all materials meet technical specifications and compliance standards.
Strategic Procurement Leadership & Governance
- Lead the end-to-end procurement strategy for raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and indirect supplies for all Notions Group manufacturing units in the UAE.
- Develop and maintain a category strategy for ingredients (cocoa, nuts, emulsifiers, stabilizers, flavors, inclusions) and packaging (primary & secondary).
- Establish procurement governance frameworks, including SOPs, approval matrices, vendor onboarding protocols, cost benchmarking, and compliance controls.
- Drive annual procurement planning aligned with production forecasts, NPD pipeline, and Private Label commitments.
Supplier Development, Contracting & Compliance
- Build and manage a diversified supplier ecosystem across UAE, GCC, Europe, and Asia to ensure quality, competitive pricing, and business continuity.
Cost Optimization & Value Engineering
- Drive structured cost-saving initiatives, including alternative sourcing, pack-size optimization, demand consolidation, and transportation efficiencies.
- Analyse global commodity trends (cocoa, sugar, nuts, oils, etc.) to optimize buying windows and mitigate price volatility.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 7–10+ years of hands-on sourcing expertise within the UAE FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) market, preferably within chocolate, confectionery, or food manufacturing environments.
- Must demonstrate deep working knowledge of raw materials, cocoa derivatives, nuts, dry fruits, inclusions, emulsifiers, enzymes, stabilizers, flavorings, and a broad spectrum of primary/secondary packaging materials.
- Proven capability in vendor development, cost negotiation, import handling, and compliance with UAE food regulatory standards. The role requires strong collaboration with R&D, Quality, Production, and Finance, supported by the ability to interpret technical specifications and align suppliers accordingly.
- Must be resourceful, fast-moving, detail-oriented, and commercially sharp, with the agility to respond to production needs, shifting priorities, and innovation timelines. Demonstrated experience in reducing procurement costs, improving vendor performance, and creating procurement discipline is essential.
- The individual must have strong communication skills, a high sense of ownership, and the resilience to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth manufacturing setup.
