Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Procurement Specialist will manage high-volume monthly sourcing of aluminium and copper scrap to maintain safety stock as per defined norms and consumption for factory operations. The role requires strong UAE-market knowledge, established relationships with scrap vendors, and full responsibility for quality assurance, pricing, and supply reliability.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations
• Develop procurement strategies, onboard new vendors, and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve optimal cost and supply security.
• Source and purchase 1,500 MT aluminium + 500 MT copper scrap per month, primarily from the UAE market, with international sourcing as required.
• Track LME trends to guide purchasing decisions and timing.
• Ensure full quality assurance including grade verification, inspections, and compliance with specifications. • Coordinate logistics for timely, cost-effective deliveries.
• Manage procurement budgets and maintain adherence to defined limits.
• Ensure 100% availability of Raw materials as per weekly/monthly production plans.
Market Analysis & Planning
• Monitor global and regional scrap market trends affecting pricing and supply.
• Prepare market reports, pricing forecasts, and risk-mitigation strategies.
• Align procurement with operations, finance, and sales requirements.
Supplier Relationship Management
• Build and manage strong relationships with local UAE scrap yards, traders, and aggregators. • Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews.
• Negotiate and manage long-term supply agreements.
• Ensure supplier compliance with environmental, regulatory, and company standards.
• Drive supplier development to improve consistency and service quality.
Desired Candidate Profile
Educational Background
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Engineering, or related field
• Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or relevant field preferred
• Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management (CIPS, APICS, ISM) are advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge
• Strong technical understanding of aluminium & copper scrap grades and QC standards.
• Solid knowledge of LME pricing, Incoterms, customs processes, and trade documentation.
• Familiar with metallurgical processes and material testing.
• Knowledge of environmental and sustainability norms in metals recycling.
• Advanced Excel and ERP proficiency.
• Must have proven experience with UAE local scrap procurement and vendor ecosystem.
