Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Set an ambitious and clear product vision and communicate it effectively to stakeholders, the team, and the rest of the unit.
Manage end-to-end team output strategy from inception to production.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure digital vision and products align with team strategy and requirements.
Take accountability for product-specific KPIs once a solution enters production and communicate regular tracking to stakeholders.
Utilize market and industry knowledge to translate user needs into user stories and acceptance criteria.
Maintain a product backlog that is 3 to 4 sprints ahead of the team.
Deliver multiple, concurrent projects and business area backlog items, taking responsibility for all business change elements.
Lead and coordinate change activity, working with lead translators and program managers to maintain a strategic delivery roadmap.
Manage projects of varying scale from idea through to delivery and closure, adopting proportionate governance.
Maintain momentum and direction, delivering to the agreed scope, timeframe, and budget.
Treat resource planning and accurate estimation as fundamental principles.
Practice a progressive stakeholder management approach, building invested relationships and employing engagement plans.
Actively manage project risks, issues, and dependencies.
Plan and coordinate work with internal departments to ensure resource requirements are understood and available.
Direct the activities of third-party providers (vendors, consultants, etc.), ensuring delivery to time, quality, and budget.
Report progress to Lead Translators and senior business members through monthly reporting or equivalent channels.
Facilitate release planning with stakeholders as well as weekly demos.
Serve as a key role on Agile teams, working onsite with the team on a daily basis.
Integrate usability studies and research into requirements to enhance user satisfaction and customer-driven design.
Align outward-facing product requirements and stakeholders.
Authority & Decision Making
Strategic Thinking: The role operates within broadly defined policies, standards, and objectives. The determination of “what needs to be done” is largely left to the incumbent, who must establish the plan, determine priorities, and prescribe the processes needed to achieve objectives.
Operational Direction: Subject to general direction and broadly defined functional policy objectives. However, actions that impact other functional or operating areas usually require approval before they may be implemented.
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a relevant business function.
Minimum Experience
Overall Experience: 7+ years total, with a minimum of 4 years specifically in the metal, mining, and energy industries.
Leadership Profile: Proven track record leading agile projects as both a Product Owner and a Scrum Master.
Certifications: Formal project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Project Management, or equivalent).
Agile Proficiency: Deep understanding of project management techniques in an agile environment.
Strategic Coordination: Ability to plan 2–3 steps ahead of the team and surface hidden risks 2–3 levels deep.
Industry Knowledge: Proven knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the relevant industry.
Technical Best Practices: Excellent understanding of engineering best practices, such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI).
Precision & Analytics: Proven knowledge of standard precision practices and technology; excellent knowledge of tracking and analytics setup.
Product Grooming: Proficient in drawing storyboards, creating wireframes, grooming backlogs, writing user stories, and developing acceptance criteria.
Prioritization: Relentless focus on alignment with business and IT stakeholders to ensure maximum value capture.
Stakeholder Influence: Ability to influence senior business and IT executives regarding agile transformation.
Adaptability: Comfortable moving between high-level strategic discussions and on-the-ground agile coaching.
Collaboration: Strong collaborator with cross-functional teams across tech, design, and business.
Data Transformation: Demonstrable experience managing the delivery of complex business change projects within Data Transformation.
Portfolio Management: Experience managing a diverse change portfolio with concurrent initiatives using creativity and efficient resource use.
SDLC: Solid experience in all stages of the project delivery and Software Development Life Cycle.
Vendor Management: Experience engaging and managing third parties, including vendors and consultants.
Planning: Strong expertise in planning and control.
UX/UI: Experience working with design teams to deliver top-tier user experiences and interfaces.
Bonus Experience: * Delivering advanced analytics, digital, automation, and robotization projects.
IT, automation, and control system experience/training.
Familiarity with the technology stack: Azure, Power BI, Sparx, Python, R, Synapse, and SQL Server, along with an appreciation for Big Data and real-time analytics.
