Production Engineer (Steel Fabrication Only) Litco Industries

1. Drawing Review & Production Release:

• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and BOM before production start.

• Coordinate with detailing / engineering department for missing details, revisions, and discrepancies.

• Ensure only latest approved drawings are released to production.

• Break down drawings into production priorities by project, zone, sequence, and delivery requirement.

• Prepare production mark-wise execution plans.

2. Material Planning & Control:

• Coordinate with Procurement and Stores for raw material availability (plates, beams, channels, pipes, bolts, consumables).

• Verify material traceability, heat numbers, MTC availability, and stock status.

• Ensure timely issuance of materials to cutting / fabrication sections.

• Monitor shortages and raise material requests proactively.

• Control wastage, nesting efficiency, and scrap reduction.

3. Production Scheduling & Shop Floor Management:

• Prepare daily / weekly / monthly fabrication production plans.

• Allocate work to cutting, fit-up, welding, drilling, machining, blasting, painting, and assembly sections.

• Monitor target vs actual production tonnage / quantities.

• Ensure bottlenecks are resolved immediately.

• Optimize machine loading and workflow movement inside factory.

4. Fabrication & Welding Control:

• Supervise fit-up, welding, grinding, straightening, and assembly works.

• Ensure fabrication as per approved drawings, tolerances, and standards.

• Monitor WPS / PQR / welder qualification compliance where applicable.

• Ensure weld quality and dimensional accuracy.

• Coordinate rework actions if defects identified.

5. Quality Assurance / NCR Management:

• Coordinate with QA/QC for in-process and final inspections.

• Ensure hold points and inspection stages are completed.

• Raise, track, and close all NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) on priority basis.

• Investigate root causes of NCRs and implement corrective / preventive actions.

• Maintain punch lists, rejection logs, and quality improvement records.

6. Surface Preparation / Painting / Finishing:

• Coordinate blasting, primer, paint system application, DFT checks, touch-up, and final finish.

• Ensure painting specs comply with project requirements.

• Monitor curing, handling, and damage prevention before dispatch.

7. Packing, Dispatch & Delivery Coordination:

• Prepare dispatch priorities based on site erection sequence and client requirements.

• Coordinate with logistics for trailers, loading plans, permits, and delivery schedules.

• Ensure proper tagging, packing lists, delivery notes, and mark identification.

• Prevent shortages / wrong loading / damaged materials.

• Track delivered vs pending items until final closeout.

8. Coordination with Other Departments:

• Work closely with Planning Engineer, Project Engineer, QA/QC, Stores, Procurement, Maintenance, and Logistics teams.

• Attend production meetings and submit progress updates.

• Coordinate urgent site requirements and replacement items.

9. Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare daily production reports, backlog reports, efficiency reports, and delay analysis.

• Maintain drawing status, production trackers, NCR logs, and dispatch summaries.

• Update management on risks affecting deadlines.

10. Cost Control / Productivity Improvement:

• Reduce rework, downtime, material waste, and overtime misuse.

• Improve productivity per man-hour and machine-hour.

• Suggest lean improvements and process enhancements.
