The role
Programme Manager - Major Masterplanned Developments
To develop and deliver a specific programme of work in line with business requirements and customer expectations.
The programme should be undertaken in a safe and environmentally responsible manner to cost, time and quality in line with corporate governance, company standards and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and delivering a specific programme of work, on time, to budget and to other agreed success criteria within corporate guidelines including the investment competence framework.
Working with the client to establish an effective relationship supporting effective delivery, performance measurement and management of change. This should encompass where appropriate communications with outside bodies.
Developing and managing the programme team (including external suppliers), monitoring adequate resources available to deliver a flexible, competent, skilled and effective workforce at all times.
Achieving the programme outturn and margins as agreed with the programme director.
Developing an appropriate strategy for the development and delivery of the programme work scope.
Identifying priority opportunities within the programme and lead promotion and sharing of best practice between programmes.
Monitoring planning so that it considers cross-programme requirements and supports the effective delivery of contracted obligations.
Undertaking accident investigation when remitted by the relevant designated competent person
Identifying and implementing quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Leading and inspiring the team to maintain full engagement in meeting business objectives.
Managing and complying with company procedures to provide appropriate resources, communication strategies, training, competency and evaluate fitness of staff to safely deliver their accountabilities.
Reporting on the progress and/or impact of all cross-functional projects.
Liaising with the teams to deliver clear and consistent reporting on programme status and progress to all interested stakeholders.
Managing the risk management and project governance.
Developing systems/methodology and maintain records that provide for the proper evaluation, control and documentation of assigned activities; prepares a variety of written correspondence, reports, procedures, directives and other materials as required.
Ensuring the creation of relevant operating plans detailing by product the activities/projects and launches.
Working with external suppliers, agencies or other divisions as a representative by fostering collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the programmes.
Your experience, knowledge and skills need to include:
Masterplanned, major development/project experience is essential.
Relevant experience in the successful management of major programmes of work in the construction and/or rail industries.
Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of the principles of investment processes and procedures.
Knowledge of the principles of health and safety legislation, environmental and best practice.
Construction design management competency.
Project safety management experience
Accident investigation experience.
Ability to lead a team and motivate team members.
A degree qualification or equivalent is preferred but is not essential.
Professional memberships is preferred but is not essential.
