Skoun is a non-profit making, non-political and non-sectarian Lebanese organization created in 2001 and legally registered in 2003. Skoun's scope of work is focused on three main areas of interest: Treatment, Prevention and Advocacy.
As part of its prevention work,Skoun educates young people and the community to prevent drug misuse and promote well-being by delivering the facts about substance use and developing educational programs which equip adolescents with the skills needed to lead healthy and productive lives. Skoun has had an extensive experience in delivering prevention programs. Since 2003, our programs have been implemented in different private and public schools and univerities. These programs are based on drug education, peer to peer education and life skills.
Tasks and Duties:
The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the implementation of a life skills program in schools in Beirut.
Coordinating the implementation of a life skills program in schools in Beirut.
Attending life skills training workshops.
Coordinating with every school the schedule of life skills lessons.
Coordinating with every teacher/educator in each school the schedule of life skills lessons.
Monitoring the implementation of lessons in every school.
Providing support and regular feedback to teachers/educators implementing life skills lessons.
Following up with teachers/educators implementing life skills lessons.
Ensuring the effective implementation of the program through class observations and co-lead sessions with teachers/educators.
Delivering life skills lessons targeting young people.
Supporting teachers/educators in the design and implementation of a community service project in their school.
Coordinating with Skoun partner organization.
Contributing to the development of educational and information materials needed by teachers/educators.
Handling the details of printing materials needed in schools implementing the program.
Preparing regular reports for the Prevention Manager on the work progress and implemented activities.
