Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
On-Site Execution & Supervision: Lead and supervise daily civil construction activities for villas and residential buildings, ensuring structural works, blockwork, plastering, and finishing match approved shop drawings.
Authority & Code Compliance: Coordinate directly with consultants and inspectors to secure inspections and clearances. Ensure all site activities strictly align with Dubai Municipality (DM) regulations, structural codes, and green building systems (Al Sa'fat).
Engineering Submittals & Procurement: Prepare and track Material Submittals, Request for Information (RFIs), and method statements. Coordinate material supply pipelines (such as concrete, blockwork, and waterproofing) to prevent site delays.
Subcontractor & Interface Management: Manage site subcontractors, structural layout settings, and the structural interface between civil main works and specialized trade installations (such as MEP and facade envelopes).
Progress Tracking & Reporting: Monitor project schedules, identify potential timeline risks, and prepare clear progress updates for project management and client representatives.
Desired Candidate Profile
1. Authority Credentials & Technical Skills
Authority Status: Dubai Municipality (DM) Approved Engineer status is highly preferred (G+12, G+4, or Unlimited Civil Engineer license holder).
Project Expertise: Strong technical execution knowledge of both horizontal residential developments (villas/townhouses) and vertical concrete structures (residential buildings).
Software Proficiency: Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD for drawing verification and site layout checks. Familiarity with MS Project or Primavera P6 is an asset.
2. Language & Communication Skills
Mandarin Chinese: Full professional proficiency (spoken and written) is preferred to coordinate seamlessly with international supply chains, joint-venture partners, and internal corporate reporting structures.
English: Full professional proficiency (spoken and written) is required to issue daily site logs, write contractual correspondence, and conduct formal technical meetings with UAE-based consultants and authorities.
3. Experience & Education Criteria
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (degree must be attested and registered with the UAE Society of Engineers).
Experience: Strictly 5 to 10 years of experience in the UAE construction market, with a proven track record of successfully handing over residential packages and villa communities.
