Job Description

The Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing the technical and operational execution of construction projects, bridging site operations and project management. The role ensures that construction activities are executed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and Palace Group standards for quality, safety, and budget. The Project Engineer coordinates closely with design, procurement, and site teams, providing technical guidance and supporting the Project Manager in delivering successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical and Engineering Coordination

• Review, interpret, and implement IFC drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, and shop drawing approvals in coordination with design and procurement teams.
• Ensure proper implementation of design intent and adherence to project scope.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to address technical issues affecting schedule, cost, or quality.

Construction and Site Management

• Supervise on-site construction activities to ensure accurate execution of works.
• Monitor labor and subcontractor performance, optimizing manpower and resource utilization.
• Enforce strict compliance with safety protocols, quality standards, and local regulations.
• Identify on-site challenges and provide timely solutions to maintain project momentum.

Project Monitoring and Reporting

• Track progress against project schedules, budgets, and quality benchmarks.
• Prepare progress reports, status updates, and technical documentation for the Project Manager.
• Assist in monthly reporting, including issues, delays, and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of drawings, submittals, inspections, and correspondence.

Coordination and stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with Project Managers, Architects, Consultants, and subcontractors to achieve project milestones.
• Support procurement coordination for timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
• Facilitate effective communication between site teams, design teams, and management.

Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement

• Implement efficient work methods and monitor construction processes for improvements.
• Minimize material wastage and ensure optimal use of resources.
• Contribute to lessons learned and standardization across projects.
