Roles & Responsibilities

Lead the programming on Social Cohesion and Conflict Resilience (SCCR) within the Jordan Program of Pro Peace

Initiate, design, and manage projects with local partners focused on trauma-informed and non-violent conflict transformation, including responsibilities for conflict analysis, PMEL, and financial controlling.

Strengthen the capacities of local civil society organizations and community-based initiatives in SSCR, fostering inclusive participation and dialogue.

Establish and maintain strong partnerships with local and national actors working on peacebuilding, trauma-informed approaches, and civic engagement.

Lead advocacy and networking strategies aimed at promoting social cohesion, trust, and community resilience at local and national levels.

Support joint fundraising and proposal development with partners to sustain peacebuilding and SCCR initiatives.

(Potentially) lead a small team of colleagues working on the same thematic area.

Report to the Country Director of the Jordan office.

(Potentially) contribute to cross-border learning and regional exchange on social cohesion and conflict resilience, including exploratory activities for future engagement in Syria.

The above responsibilities may require frequent travel to Syria

Desired Candidate Profile

Advanced university degree in social sciences; conflict-studies; or another relevant discipline within the humanities

Extracurricular knowledge and experience in the field of psychology/psychosocial support is a significant advantage

Minimum of 5 years professional experience in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, or social cohesion programming, preferably in fragile or conflict-affected contexts.

Demonstrated experience in working with trauma-informed approaches and community-based dialogue processes.

Excellent command of Arabic (primary working language) and English (office language).

Strong understanding of the political, social, and cultural context in Jordan (and ideally Syria), with sensitivity to issues of marginalization and exclusion.

Proven analytical and conceptual skills, with the ability to think strategically and develop context-appropriate interventions.

Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills, with high intercultural sensitivity and the ability to work independently and under pressure.

Confident use of IT office applications.

Valid driving license and willingness to drive.
