Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
As a Projects Director, you will be responsible for directing the delivery of multiple projects in conjunction with the Design Director to ensure a seamless workflow from concept to close-out. This will involve managing the schedule, cost, and delivery of multiple projects with the goal of achieving the targeted organisational benefits.
You will play a key role in project delivery in all phases, aligning and reinforcing project management best practices. This includes proactively identifying and managing project-related risk and undertaking remedial action when required.
To ensure a high level of efficiency in delivery, you will also be responsible for ensuring the delivery process maximises the benefits of existing and upcoming technology, tools, and techniques. This will involve directing the overall project workload, including project assignment, workload adjustment, and ensuring on-time delivery.
In addition, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement of processes, skills, templates, and service delivery. This will help foster a culture of technical excellence-in-delivery that mutually reinforces the studio s design culture.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and enabling risk management, contract documentation, tendering & evaluation, and overseeing the tender management phase of projects through to the award of contract.
- Managing the procurement of sub-consultants through the project lifecycle.
- Monitoring the contracts administration tasks related to ongoing projects.
- Participating in the compilation of the risk register and risk management plan for your project and ensuring that the risk register is reviewed regularly at team meetings and updated.
- Managing the commercial aspects of projects and establishing and managing the annual team budget.
- Seeking ways to improve project estimates to lower and improve competitive project bids.
- Utilising stakeholder mapping techniques to create a stakeholder engagement plan for each project at the initial phase and monitoring project communications with key stakeholders.
- Working with, directing, and building effective relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and sub-trades.
Desired Candidate Profile
You have exceptional communication skills and a solid understanding of MS Project and Prima Vera software. You have excellent command of written and spoken English and are a member of UAE Society Engineers & AIA (preferred) and PMI (highly regarded). Registration with your home country s professional body is highly regarded.
The chosen candidate will have a minimum of 15 years industry experience, with previous experience in an office environment managing multiple projects. You have deep technical knowledge and expertise in all phases of delivery, with technical expertise in Construction Administration.
In addition, you will have commercial management experience, and proven experience managing stakeholders including client relations. You have a strong track record in project/stage reporting, and experience in delivering projects independently.
Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have industry experience in innovative practices locally or internationally, or reputable local practices. You are a team player, proactive, and able to provide leadership and guidance to your team. You have a keen attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a strategic mindset.
Finally, you are committed to delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines and budget constraints. As a Projects Director, you have a passion for the industry, and you are dedicated to delivering successful projects to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
