Position Overview:
The Proposal Development and Fundraising consultant will be the focal point for IRC s partner to provide advice, lead and support in developing, planning and implementing a fundraising strategy with clear objectives and action plan.
The Fundraising Consultant will identify potential donors He / she will write proposals, collect and manage donor information, conduct studies, and recommend structural and organizational changes to improve fundraising efficiency.
Principle Duties:
• Assess the organization s fundraising potential
• Support and Identify priorities and goals for fundraising based on the need of the local partner
• Work closely with the local partner s Board and the Operations Manager to develop a sustainability plan that ensures continuous funding and financial stability
• Develop a database for potential donors
• Work in conjunction with the Operations Manager to develop proposals and apply for funds when applicable
• Provide guidance and train the partner s management staff on how to work for the success of fundraising projects
• Provide a training on how to maintain good relationship with the new and existing donors
• Develop the compliance requirements for fundraising activities to align the country's legal regulations and the partner s policies
• Implement and develop Budget and Finance Resource Development Plan
• Propose strategic and operational plans and set annual budget with the Board Committee as part of the Budget and finance Resource Development Plan
• Set achievable revenue goals
• Support the partner s Board Committee to develop a financial plan to raise money from donors and corporate
• Maintain records and databases of all foundations and donors
• Plan, execute visits and attend meetings with potential donors to offer presentations on charitable projects (ongoing and upcoming)
Skills, Experience and Competencies:
• Masters degree or equivalent in management, social sciences, economics, international relations, marketing or any other related area.
• Knowledge of Lebanon socio-political and working environment
• Experience in developing proposals and budgets for different donors
• A commitment to working for the humanitarian sector
• Knowledge in donor management
• Strategic, action-oriented, adaptable and innovative approach to fundraising
• Proactive attitude, enthusiastic and energetic
• Excellent organizational and project management skills
• Proven relationship building skills, with the ability to engender trust and loyalty from involved parties
• Proficiency in writing proposals and reports
• Strong and proven influencing and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Team Player
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
• Excellent communication skills- both written and verbal
• Excellent working knowledge of English and Arabic (spoken and written)
• Knowledge of French is an asset
