Public Realm Engineer KEO International Consultants

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement design solutions for public spaces, including streetscapes, parks, plazas, sidewalks, cycleways, and transport networks, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing public realm.
• Lead and manage public realm projects from concept to delivery, ensuring that they meet project objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Work closely with urban planners, landscape architects, architects, and local authorities to integrate engineering solutions into the broader urban context.
• Facilitate stakeholder consultations and engage with the public when required.
• Provide technical guidance on infrastructure design and construction, including drainage, roadworks, utilities, street furniture, lighting, and accessibility features.
• Ensure that the public realm project adheres to sustainability principles, integrating green infrastructure, low-carbon materials, and climate resilience.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant local, national, and international codes, standards, and regulations, including accessibility and health and safety requirements.
• Oversee the quality control process, ensuring high standards in engineering design, construction practices, and materials.
• Assist in the monitoring and ongoing maintenance of completed public realm projects, ensuring they remain functional, safe, and attractive over time.
• Prepare reports, specifications, feasibility studies, and cost estimates, and provide regular updates to project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
