Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pulmonologist to join our healthcare team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of respiratory and pulmonary diseases. This role involves both outpatient and inpatient care and requires compliance with Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH/HAAD) licensing and standards. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose and manage a wide range of pulmonary and respiratory conditions, including asthma, COPD, pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, tuberculosis, and lung cancer. Interpret diagnostic tests, including chest X-rays, CT scans, pulmonary function tests (PFTs), and arterial blood gases (ABGs). Perform and supervise bronchoscopies and other advanced pulmonary procedures (if applicable). Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on current clinical guidelines and patient needs. Manage patients requiring long-term ventilation or oxygen therapy. Collaborate with intensivists, internists, thoracic surgeons, and other specialists for multidisciplinary patient care. Provide education and counseling to patients on disease prevention, smoking cessation, and lifestyle modifications. Maintain thorough and up-to-date medical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH). Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement activities, and continuing medical education (CME) as required. Qualifications: Medical Degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution. Residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine (or equivalent specialty training). Board certification in Pulmonology (e.g., American Board, Arab Board, MRCP with specialization, FRCP, etc.). Minimum 3-5 years of post-fellowship experience (Consultant roles may require 8+ years). Strong diagnostic, procedural, and clinical decision-making skills. Proficiency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus. Preferred Experience: Experience in managing ICU patients with pulmonary complications. Competence in sleep medicine and interpretation of sleep studies (optional). Familiarity with international standards (e.g., JCI-accredited environments). Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Compensation & Benefits: Competitive tax-free salary.
