Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Procurement Operations

  • Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies for copper and aluminum scrap materials from local and international suppliers
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with new suppliers while maintaining existing vendor partnerships
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal cost structures and supply security
  • Monitor and analyze London Metal Exchange (LME) pricing trends to inform purchasing decisions and timing
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective transportation of materials
  • Manage procurement budgets and ensure adherence to approved spending limits

Market Analysis & Strategic Planning

  • Monitor global and regional market trends affecting copper and aluminum scrap pricing and availability
  • Prepare regular market analysis reports and pricing forecasts for senior management
  • Develop risk management strategies to mitigate price volatility and supply disruptions
  • Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to stay current with market developments
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to align procurement activities with business objectives

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and industry stakeholders
  • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and performance reviews
  • Implement supplier development programs to enhance capabilities and service levels
  • Negotiate and manage long-term supply agreements and framework contracts
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies in supplier interactions

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Engineering, or related field
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or relevant field preferred
  • Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management (CIPS, APICS, ISM) are advantageous

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of copper and aluminum scrap grades, specifications, and quality standards
  • In-depth knowledge of London Metal Exchange (LME) operations, pricing mechanisms, and market dynamics
  • Familiarity with international trade terms (Incoterms), customs procedures, and shipping documentation
  • Understanding of metallurgical processes and material testing procedures
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in metals recycling
  • Advanced level of knowledge in MS Office (especially MS Excel) and industry related ERP systems.
