Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Procurement Planning & Sourcing

  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, delivery time, and compliance with company and client requirements.
  • Source materials, equipment, and services for projects in accordance with approved specifications and project timelines.
  • Obtain and review multiple quotations for cost comparison and negotiation.

2. Purchase Order Management

  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in compliance with company procurement policies.
  • Ensure all POs include correct technical specifications, delivery dates, and commercial terms.
  • Track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and update relevant departments on order status.

3. Supplier & Vendor Coordination

  • Maintain regular communication with suppliers to follow up on deliveries, resolve issues, and manage disputes.
  • Evaluate vendor performance periodically and maintain an updated approved vendor list.
  • Assist in vendor prequalification processes for client-approved supplier lists (e.g., ADNOC).

4. Material & Specification Compliance

  • Coordinate with engineering and quality departments to ensure procured items meet project specifications, approved Material Approval Requests (MARs), and quality standards.
  • Arrange inspections and certifications as required by client or project QA/QC teams.

5. Cost Control & Negotiation

  • Negotiate best prices and payment terms while ensuring quality and delivery schedules are not compromised.
  • Work with finance to ensure timely supplier payments in line with agreed credit terms.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate procurement records including quotations, purchase orders, supplier correspondence, and delivery notes.
  • Generate regular procurement status reports for management review.
  • Ensure procurement documentation is audit-compliant and ready for client submission when required.

7. Logistics & Delivery Coordination

  • Liaise with logistics teams for transportation, customs clearance (if applicable), and site delivery arrangements.
  • Ensure proper documentation for imported materials, including invoices, packing lists, and shipping documents.

8. Compliance & Ethics

  • Adhere to company procurement policies and anti-bribery/ethical purchasing standards.
  • Ensure all procurement activities are transparent, competitive, and compliant with local laws and client requirements.

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field.
  • Additional certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is an advantage.

2. Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement within construction, EPC, interiors, or oil & gas industries.
  • Experience with ADNOC or other major client procurement processes is preferred.

3. Skills & Competencies

  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, BOQs, and material specifications.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple procurement requests simultaneously.

4. Personal Attributes

  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.
  • High integrity and adherence to ethical procurement practices.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

5. Additional Requirements

  • Knowledge of local and international suppliers for construction and industrial materials.
  • Valid UAE Driving License (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel to supplier sites and project locations when necessary.
