Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Develop and implement cost-effective procurement strategies for local and international sourcing

  1. Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and vendors

  2. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to secure the best value

  3. Review and manage supplier contracts to ensure performance and compliance

  4. Build and maintain strong, long-term vendor relationships

  5. Evaluate quotations and conduct cost/value analysis before approving purchase orders

  6. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and services

  7. Perform risk assessments on suppliers, contracts, and procurement processes

  8. Manage and control procurement budgets, focusing on cost optimization

  9. Lead and supervise the purchasing team, ensuring efficient operations

  10. Maintain an updated database of suppliers, pricing, and contracts

  11. Handle supplier issues including quality concerns, defects, and shortages

  12. Monitor and manage inventory levels in coordination with stores/warehouse

  13. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth flow of materials for production/projects

  14. Provide regular updates to management on procurement activities and performance

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Proven experience in procurement/purchasing (preferably in manufacturing / joinery / furniture industry)

  2. Strong knowledge of supplier sourcing, vendor management, and negotiation

  3. Experience in handling both local and international procurement

  4. Good understanding of cost analysis, budgeting, and inventory management

  5. Familiarity with procurement systems / ERP tools

  6. Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team

  7. Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

  8. Excellent communication and coordination skills

  9. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail

  10. Knowledge of materials (especially wood, hardware, coatings, etc. – if furniture industry) is an added advantage
