Responsibilities:
• Quality Control Inspectors validate that our materials and manufactured components are compliant. This role involves receiving inspection of incoming material and shop floor inspection of precision machined components and assemblies with tolerances less than 0.0005".
• Conduct receiving inspections on incoming material or components for conformance to purchase orders, company drawings, procedures, specifications and Code requirements and then complete any related Receiving Inspection Reports and documentation
• Use a range of manual measurement tools and fixtures to complete dimensional, in-process, and final inspections on components and assemblies and then prepare any related Dimensional Inspection Reports and documentation
• Work closely with the Production team to identify non-conformances and take immediate action to support corrective action and resolution of all issues
• Prepare comprehensive Non-Conformance Reports and Corrective Action Reports in a timely manner for review by the QC Manager or QC Supervisor
• Operate CMMs
• Assist with Quality Surveillance of sub suppliers
• Complete other assignments as required.
Requirements:
• Demonstrated knowledge of ASME Code Section II, Sec III, Sec V, IX; CSA N285, Z299.2 and ISO 9001
• Expertise in the use of appropriate measuring tools and equipment including vernier's, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, Rockwell and Vickers hardness testers
• Familiarity with controls required for calibration of measuring and test equipment.
• Understanding of specific NDE techniques; Liquid Penetration, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Ultrasonic Testing and Radiographic Testing. A CWB certification is an asset
• Effective use of ASTM/ASME/other standards, material specifications, statistics, to interpret and verify QA, NDE and other technical test data.
• Proficiency interpreting complex manufacturing drawings with GDT specifications to determine the appropriate dimensional inspections to establish compliance
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills working within a team-based environment
• Strong ability to work independently to complete assignments promptly while maintaining the high standards required in our industry
• Ability to solve routine technical problems using variety of systematic approaches.
Required education:
College or Secondary School
Required experience:
• Knowledge of ASME Code Section II, Sec III, Sec V, IX; CSA N285, Z299.2 and ISO 9001;: 5 years
• Expertise in the use of appropriate measuring tools and equipment including verniers, calipers: 1 year minimum

Qualifications:
Quality Control Inspector
Our Client is a leading supplier of precision-machined components to the international nuclear industry. Our highly skilled teams manufacture, assemble and test complex components using the latest in CAD/CAM software, high precision CNC equipment and Zeiss CMMs.
Quality Control Inspector will work on an alternating two-shift basis. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of experience working in the nuclear, aerospace or defence industry.
Reporting to: Quality Control Manager
