Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee and enforce quality control procedures for all civil construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections of materials, workmanship, and completed work, identifying and documenting any non-conformances with precision.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive quality control documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and as-built drawings.
- Review and approve method statements, shop drawings, and other technical submittals, ensuring alignment with quality requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions effectively.
- Witness and verify critical tests, such as concrete compressive strength tests, soil compaction tests, and welding inspections, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Participate in internal and external audits, including client audits, to assess the effectiveness of the quality management system.
- Provide training and guidance to construction personnel on quality control procedures, promoting a culture of quality awareness.
- Monitor and control the implementation of the project's quality plan, proactively identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Investigate and analyze quality-related incidents, determining root causes and recommending preventative measures to avoid recurrence.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, providing a strong technical foundation.
- Holds relevant certifications, such as a Certified Quality Control Manager (CQCM) or equivalent, demonstrating professional competence.
- Demonstrates at least 5 years of experience in quality control within the EPC construction industry, showcasing practical knowledge.
- Exhibits a deep understanding of relevant international standards (e.g., ASTM, ACI, BS) and local regulations, ensuring compliance.
- Has experience with large-scale infrastructure projects (e.g., power plants, oil & gas facilities), highlighting project complexity understanding.
- Proficient in using quality control software and tools, such as inspection software and document management systems, increasing efficiency.
- Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of identifying and resolving quality issues promptly.
- Displays excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Exhibits a proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) is essential, with proficiency in additional languages beneficial for international projects.
