QC INSPECTOR – MECHANICAL
Should have ARAMCO approval / Commissioning Experience
Jobs at this level have responsibility for undertaking Quality Control inspections in an allocated segment of a project under execution. This responsibility includes bringing to notice major variances, following-up on remedial action and signing off completed components of work. Whilst the duties at this level are identical to those carried out at Level 1, they differ in that Level 2 role holders will have a larger scope of work within a project or, for small projects, they will be the sole Quality Control Inspector.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Studies project specifications and technical drawings to gain an understanding and appreciation of work to be undertaken.
• Inspects work being carried out on projects, within allocated area of responsibility, to ensure compliance with the Quality inspection plan.
• Resolves minor issues at the work site. Prepares a non-conformance report in the case of more serious breaches setting out the circumstances.
• Monitors work progress and requests Non Destructive Testing (NDT) of welds at predetermined locations. Follows-up on results and ensures required action is implemented
• Generates inspection reports to record activities undertaken on a daily basis. Signs-off completed work segments at respective hold points and passes reports to Documentation for filing and safekeeping.
• Liaises with client QC representative on inspection activities and provides clarifications.
• Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
• Gains a thorough understanding of requirements.
• Inspections determine level of compliance.
• Minor issues resolved on site.
• Non-conformance reports are recognized as being well founded and of the standard required.
• NDT is done at the appropriate time and place.
• Results are closely followed up.
• Documentation is accurate and complete.
• Client representative satisfaction with advice provided.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Post-secondary Technical Diploma plus AWS / CSWIP welding inspection or BGAS / NACE Paint inspection certification.
• 7 years discipline-specific QC inspection experience in fabrication works.
• Good standard of English and the ability to prepare reports of a high standard.
• Good communication skills
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of international codes and standards.
• Computer literate.
