Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

To carry out inspection routines on machine parts and assemblies to ensure that all relevant standards are adhered to. The job includes recording of data as per procedures and reporting any faults found through the appropriate channels and procedures. Provide professional QC support to the operational business unit ensuring the maintenance of Quality Management System and application of the organisational Quality Policy. Contribute to Company vision of creating fast, dependable and creative solutions for its customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Compile Initial & Final inspection reports including Photographs of equipment.
  • Visual inspection at arrival and produce report.
  • Sizing/measurements/dimension check.
  • NDT inspection, acceptance parameters.
  • Determine repair work scopes and inspection report and work instructions for Supervisor review (where applicable for repairs).
  • Ensure that any modification is reviewed by the QC Supervisor and is properly controlled and documented.
  • Prepare for audits & Calibration.
  • Arrange for X-Ray / PWHT / Third party interventions as per arising requirements from production department or job requirements and advice as required.
  • Produce COC and ensure to compile final complete documentation.
  • Assisting in effectively implementing and maintaining Quality Management System across the Business Units.
  • Provide responses based on root cause analysis for quality issues, customer complaints and corrective action requests as directed by Regional QHSE Manager/QA Engineer.
  • Provide support for identifying work specific international standards as part of facilitating competitive advantage for the business.
  • To support maintaining the API standards/specifications pertaining to product quality.
  • Interacts with facility staff and other QC representatives for effective implementation of quality policies and procedures.
  • Controls and updated the QC documents and records, ensure monthly reports are received on time and prepare monthly QMS reports as directed by the Regional QHSE Manager.
  • Responsible for the general housekeeping and cleaning of area of working.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Knowledge Measuring instruments / oilfield equipment
  • In-depth knowledge of inspections, hardness inspection and NDT procedures.
  • Hands-on experience inspection on Rotary Equipment such as pumps, Blowers, centrifuges etc.
  • Operating Understanding PMI machine
  • Calibration of measuring instruments and gauges
  • Knowledge of measuring / inspection parameters for oilfield equipment.
  • Dimensional check precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, bore dial gauges, vernier, height gauges etc.
  • Knowledge of Turbines, Rotating equipment, pumps
  • Knowledge of API 610 and relevant standards
  • Knowledge of Welding Technology (desirable).
  • Knowledge and Understanding of Quality Management principles and practice within an organizational context.
  • Good communication skills in English language, both verbal and written.
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Experience

  • 5 years previous experience in a similar role essential in oil and gas mechanical/workshop environment
  • Knowledge of handling Measuring instruments / oilfield equipment/rotating Equipment s Product knowledge/exposure.
  • Roteq: compressor, pumps, steam turbines, blowers, gearboxes, fans,
  • Manufacture: Rotating Equipment s components such as shafts, wear ring, impellers, bushes, sleeves, and associated components etc.
  • Repair: Oilfield equipment, Manifold, Centrifuges, Mud pump, Turbines Etc.
  • Good communication skills in English language, both verbal and written.
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

Education Requirements

  • Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering desirable
  • NDT Certifications

Physical Requirements

  • Light physical effort or significant manual dexterity.
  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability to work in an office and workshop setting and operate relevant equipment.
  • Walking, sitting and standing for prolonged period.
  • Occasional site visits require climbing ladders, walking etc.
