Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

To ensure 100% product conformity through effective receiving, in-process, and final inspection, with strong focus on API thread inspection, dimensional control, and compliance to QMS (API Q1 / ISO 9001), thereby safeguarding customer requirements and company reputation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Perform end-to-end inspection activities including Receiving, In-Process, and Final Inspection ensuring full compliance with drawings, specifications, and customer requirements 

  2. Conduct API & other premium connection thread inspection (profile, lead, taper, ovality) using gauges in line with API 5B and identify defects such as damage, burrs, or mismatch 

  3. Ensure dimensional accuracy using metrology instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges, bore gauges, and optical comparator 

  4. Verify material traceability (Heat No., Batch No.) and validate MTC, COC, and supplier documentation during receiving and final stages 

  5. Interpret engineering drawings (GD&T basics), tolerances, and specifications to perform accurate inspection and decision-making 

  6. Identify, report, and control non-conforming products by raising NCRs and supporting CAR closure and root cause analysis 

  7. Monitor in-process quality through first-off and patrol inspections, ensuring process adherence and stopping production in case of major deviations 

  8. Ensure final product compliance, including marking, documentation, cleanliness, preservation, and packing prior to dispatch 

  9. Maintain inspection records, reports, and full traceability documentation in line with API Q1 / ISO 9001 requirements 

  10. Verify calibration status and proper usage of measuring instruments, ensuring measurement reliability and accuracy 

  11. Coordinate effectively with Production, Engineering, Stores, to resolve quality issues and ensure smooth operations

  12. Ability to use ERP / MES / digital inspection systems for reporting and traceability 

  13. Comply with HSE requirements, ensure safe working practices, and actively report unsafe conditions or risks 

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • Diploma / Engineering in Mechanical or related field 

  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in Quality Inspection (Oil & Gas / Machine Shop)
