Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor Estimator with a Civil or Mechanical Engineering background to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for managing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and ensuring financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle. The responsibilities will include but not limited to:


  1. Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for Civil and MEP projects based on drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

  2. Conduct quantity take-offs using drawings and project documentation.

  3. Analyse tender documents, scope of work, and contract conditions to identify cost risks and opportunities.

  4. Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.

  5. Prepare and submit tender proposals, cost plans, and commercial submissions within deadlines.

  6. Perform cost control and budget monitoring during project execution.

  7. Evaluate and certify contractor/subcontractor bills, variations, and claims.

  8. Prepare variation orders, cost impact assessments, and change management reports.

  9. Maintain accurate records of project costs, materials, and financial progress.

  10. Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and site teams.

  11. Assist in value engineering exercises to optimise cost without compromising quality.

  12. Ensure compliance with UAE construction standards, contract terms, and company policies.

Desired Candidate Profile

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

  2. 5–8 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator in Construction/FM projects.

  3. Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, cost estimation, and tendering processes.

  4. Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and UAE market practices.

  5. Proficiency in estimation tools, Excel, and relevant QS software.

  6. Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

  7. Experience in FM, infrastructure, or mixed-use development projects.

  8. Ability to handle multiple tenders and fast-paced deadlines.

  9. Strong commercial awareness and cost optimisation skills.

  10. Software Proficiency:

    • CostX / Candy / PlanSwift for estimation and quantity take-offs

    • Primavera P6 / MS Project for planning and cost tracking

    • AutoCAD / Revit for drawing analysis

    • Advanced MS Excel for cost analysis and reporting

    • SAP / Oracle (preferred)
