Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical, civil, electrical, and instrumentation (E&I) works, considering all project phases within the oil and gas sector.
- Conduct thorough analysis of tender documents, specifications, and drawings to identify potential cost savings and risks for construction projects.
- Manage and track project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, including variations, change orders, and claims related to all disciplines.
- Prepare and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the project's financial health.
- Perform risk assessments and cost control measures to minimize financial exposure and ensure project profitability in oil and gas construction.
- Evaluate and process payment applications from subcontractors, verifying work completed and adherence to contract terms for various disciplines.
- Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts, and budget updates to project management and stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics.
- Provide commercial and contractual support to the project team, resolving disputes and managing claims related to engineering and construction.
- Maintain accurate records of all cost-related activities, including variations, change orders, and claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to optimize project costs, identify value engineering opportunities, and ensure project success.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Possesses a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
- Holds relevant professional qualifications, such as MRICS or equivalent, demonstrating a commitment to industry standards.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the oil and gas construction sector, specifically in mechanical, civil, E&I disciplines.
- Demonstrates a deep understanding of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC) and their application in oil and gas projects.
- Proficient in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Candy) and MS Office Suite, with excellent analytical skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and project teams.
- Demonstrates a proactive and results-oriented approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with international construction standards and practices, with experience in projects outside home country.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills are mandatory.
