What You Will Be Doing
The Quantity Surveyor will oversee cost estimation, budgeting, and financial management for an investigation and refurbishment of sewage / wastewater network project. This role ensures cost control, contract compliance, and supports project teams in achieving financial efficiency.
- Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documents for sewage network projects.
- Monitor project budgets and track variations in costs throughout the construction cycle.
- Analyze completed work and arrange payment to contractors and suppliers.
- Evaluate and negotiate contract terms, prices, and amendments.
- Assess and value internal (investigations, linear meters of pipeline covered) and contractor work (CCTV, pipeline repairs) progress for payments.
- Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to resolve cost-related issues.
- Conduct site visits to verify quantities and project progress and report based on relevant KPIs to the Project Management team
- Assist in claims management and the preparation of variation orders.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports of project finances and cash flow.
- Ensure all work complies with company financial procedures and legal requirements.
- Assist in procurement planning and control to ensure project costs are within budget.
- Provide support to the project team in budget and contractual matters.
- Propose cost-saving measures and contribute to value engineering processes
- Bachelor s degree in civil engineering.
- From 4 to 5 in sewage network projects, construction or refurbishment.
- Abu Dhabi resident is a must.
- Driving license is a must.
- Strong knowledge of construction and repair methods and materials.
- Proficient in using quantity surveying software (e.g. AutoCAD, MS Excel).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents, especially related to sewage networks.
- Excellent analytical skills & strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks autonomously and deadlines efficiently.
- Excellent communication, reporting and negotiation skills.
