Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for civil engineering projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential financial pitfalls and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to ensure that all financial aspects align with construction timelines and project goals.
  • Manage and analyze project cash flow, tracking costs against budgets to maintain financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and securing the best possible terms.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports to stakeholders, detailing financial status, project progress, and any issues that may arise.
  • Utilize advanced software tools for cost estimation, project management, and billing processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide expert advice on procurement strategies, helping to streamline purchasing processes and reduce overall project costs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and implement best practices in quantity surveying.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is essential for foundational knowledge.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in civil quantity surveying, showcasing a solid understanding of industry practices.
  • Proficiency in project management software (CCS Candy & Bluebeam) and cost estimation tools is crucial for effective project execution and analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills are required to interpret data, assess risks, and make informed decisions on financial matters.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for liaising with clients, contractors, and team members to ensure clarity and collaboration.
