Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking an innovative and experienced R&D Chef specialized in frozen foods to join our dynamic team. As a crucial part of our research and development department, you will pioneer the creation of new product lines while improving our existing range of delicious and high-quality frozen meals. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background complemented by a robust knowledge of food technology. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, production, and quality assurance to ensure that our products meet market needs while adhering to nutritional standards and safety regulations. Your role involves experimenting with ingredients and techniques to craft nutritious, convenient, and market-forward frozen food products that delight the consumer while also considering cost efficiency and scalability.
Responsibilities
- Develop innovative and palatable recipes for frozen food product lines.
- Conduct thorough research to identify emerging culinary trends and technologies.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to sync product designs with consumer preferences.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety regulations.
- Oversee testing phases to gauge product appeal and safety on a small scale.
- Work closely with procurement to source high-quality and cost-effective ingredients.
- Adjust recipes and processes based on feedback from pilot testing phases.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure scalable manufacturing practices.
- Prepare detailed documentation on formulations, processes, and ingredient specifications.
- Conduct competitive analysis to maintain an edge in the market.
- Train and mentor junior chefs and food technologists on R&D practices.
- Liaise with quality assurance to uphold the highest product quality standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar R&D culinary role.
- Strong background and experience in frozen food development processes.
- Proficiency in experimental design and sensory evaluation techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration across diverse teams.
- Good understanding of production processes within the frozen food industry.
- Ability to creatively solve problems and adapt to market shifts quickly.
