Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
A radiographer, also known as a radiologic technologist, plays a crucial role in the healthcare sector by using imaging technology to help diagnose patient conditions. They work alongside radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that high-quality images are produced for accurate assessment and diagnosis. Radiographers are responsible for operating various imaging equipment such as X-rays, MRIs, and CT scanners. Their expertise not only demands technical proficiency but also exceptional patient care skills, as they must guide and support patients through the imaging process. This role requires a blend of technical skills, attention to detail, and empathetic communication in order to deliver the best possible patient experience and accurate diagnostic outcomes.
Responsibilities

Prepare and operate radiographic equipment, including X-ray, MRI, and CT machines.

Ensure compliance with safety protocols to protect patients and staff from radiation.

Assist patients by explaining procedures and ensuring they are comfortable during imaging.

Position patients accurately to obtain the required diagnostic images efficiently.

Evaluate radiographs, differentiate between high-quality images and those needing retakes.

Maintain detailed patient records and document imaging procedures for future reference.

Collaborate with radiologists to discuss imaging results and further action steps.

Adhere strictly to ethical healthcare standards and patient confidentiality laws.

Perform routine maintenance and sanitation checks on imaging equipment regularly.

Stay updated with advancements and continued education in imaging technologies.

Provide support and training to junior radiographic staff and interns as needed.

Manage and organize imaging appointments ensuring efficient workflow and patient care.
Desired Candidate Profile
Requirements

Bachelor s degree or associate degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.

Proven experience operating imaging machines, including X-rays, MRI, and CT scanners.

Strong understanding of radiation safety and protocols for various imaging procedures.

Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and empathy.

Proficient in using electronic health record systems for documenting procedures.

Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends if necessary.
