The PET/CT has an opening for the position of Radiographer (PET
CT) in grade 9 starting at a salary of LBP 1,164,405.- per month .

Basic Functions
Perform all routine PET CT examinations,
under minimal supervision, by integrating scientific knowledge and technical
skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and
useful diagnostic information.
Support the mission and vision of the
American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and of the Diagnostic
Radiology Department.
Minimum Requirements
• Radiologic Technology certificate or Bachelor's Degree. Field of Expertise: PET CT Radiography.
• 1 year of experience in PET CT.
• Strong command of Arabic and English (IET >/= 500). French is an asset.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications as well as other needed software.
• Work Schedule: Shift Basis and/or On-Call

Job Summary

Support the mission and vision of the
American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) and of the Diagnostic
Radiology Department.
Essential Functions / Task Groups
Diagnostic Modalities & Radiation Protection:
• Receive patients, check their records and documentation and prepare them
physically and psychologically for the examination. Includes confirming
patient identification, verifying requested procedure, checking pregnancy when
appropriate, assessing factors that may contraindicate the procedure and
identifying artifact-producing objects.
• Make sure patient has consented to the procedure and provide accurate
explanation and instructions regarding radiopharmaceutical administration.
Provide as well answers to patient s questions about the procedure and use of
radioactive materials.
• Provide accurate explanation and instruction, providing appropriate
information about the procedure to medical staff, nurses, students and
orderlies involved in the patient care.
• Explain test procedures and safety precautions to patients and provide
them with assistance during test procedures.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radioactive elements intravenously to
detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under direction of a
physician.
• Perform routine PET CT procedures including but not limited to:
F-18
FDG for Oncology, F-18 for Inflammation and Infection, F-18 for
Neurodisorders, F-18 for Cardiac
• Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies, using a camera to
produce photographic or computer images.
• Process Nuclear medicine studies, using computer and adapted software.
• Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals
received, used, and disposed, using computer and following physician's
prescription.
• Record and process results of procedures.
• Produce a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a
physician.
• Prepare stock radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to safety standards that
minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients.
• Operate a glucometer and document any intervention in patient chart.
• Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment or cameras.
• Dispose of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals, following
radiation safety procedures.
• Use protective practices to reduce radiation risks.
• Archive procedure as hard/soft copy; provide images, data analysis and
patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Perform
the appropriate and designated quality control tests on imaging and accessory
equipment.
• Evaluate the resultant procedure with Team Leader / Attending. Includes
reviewing of procedure for completeness and accuracy, determining whether the
outcome is within the established criteria, reviewing images for evaluation of
possible additional views and assessing patient s status prior to
discharge.
Equipment and supplies Management:
• Operate PET CT equipment using professional judgment to adapt imaging
procedures to improve diagnostic quality, consulting with appropriate medical
personnel when determining a modified action plan and selecting appropriate
shielding & immobilizing devices.
• Perform other related duties such as observing safety rules and
regulations. Keeping work area neat and tidy, reporting malfunctions to
Technical Administrator, etc.
