The Range Equipment Technician will assist the Range Support Operations Lead in ensuring that all required resources are properly prepared and on-site in accordance with unit training requirements, scenarios and published timelines. These duties include physical labor and providing technical solutions in support of live fire ranges before, during and after customer use. Duties include equipment preparation and staging; movement to and from ranges; emplacement, set-up, and installation; maintenance and repairs; as well as parallel documentation and reporting requirements.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Reports to the Range Support Maintenance Lead
Meets with customer unit representatives on the Udairi Range Complex (URC) to coordinate Range Support issues.
Deploys out with the Contact Teams to URC for customer assistance and maintenance issues.
Daily contact team deployments to URC to perform PMCS on target lifters and equipment.
Conducts on-site repairs of equipment on URC and or on URSC-SWORD.
Assists with all aspects of maintenance, training, turn-Ins, and issues to customer units.
Ensures Range Support training equipment is operational and ready for issue through close supervision and monitoring of maintenance activities.
Maintains scheduled services records and posts information to equipment maintenance records at URSC-SWORD.
Provides weekly maintenance and contact reports as required.
Monitors repair parts usage to determine if current stock levels are adequate for maintaining repair schedule. Reports discrepancies to Range Support Maintenance Supervisor.
Provides training to subordinates personnel.
Reports operational readiness rate for range training equipment on URC.
Provides equipment operator instruction and technical assistance to supported units.
Performs on-site visits to ranges in URC to ensure proper usage of range support equipment.
Monitors/assists in issuing of range support and training equipment.
Performs quality control inspection on repaired or serviced equipment.
Performs other related tasks as directed.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Computer and FM radio.
Indoor and/or outdoor environment.
Standard work week will be six (6) days per week for up to eight (8) hours per day.
May be required to work an uncommon schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must have professional appearance consistent with US military customs.
Required to observe all safety, security, and health requirements for office, warehouse, and outside environment.
Must be physically capable of lifting 75 pounds a vertical distance of four feet and carrying this weight a horizontal distance of 25 feet.
