• To be accountable for the development and implementation of regional Base Oil sourcing strategy within the Base Oil supply market segment
• To develop and maintain working relationships with business stakeholders
• To execute standardized strategic sourcing processes to meet the base oil strategy and business objectives
• To oversee the collation and analysis of supplier data and to use this to evolve sourcing and suppliers strategies
• To engage with suppliers communicating BP's expectations of them and developing improvement programmes
• To undertake procurement activity in accordance to corporate policies and processes, defined governance and delegations of authority
• Manage category across all 5 pillars of the procurement strategy
• Deliver COGS and CASH targets agreed with business
• Implement BCP Audits and Plans with key suppliers
• Review and improve contract coverage and quality with key suppliers.
Contribute to development of base oil strategy, plans and priorities, identifying opportunities to leverage value or mitigate market risks
Understand the importance of the category's evolving position on the procurement chessboard and how this impacts on the strategies implemented
Gain a clear understanding of the range of goods and services that fall within allocated categories.
Plan category review timing in detail, with milestone objectives. Agree timing with key businesses and manage and report variances against the time plan.
Define and meet performance measures for the category, reflecting business requirements and market opportunities
Track levels of risk and provide management information on risk assessments and feedback to Segment Sourcing Director via agreed risk reporting mechanism
Lead the full sourcing process to ensure delivery of business plans and category strategies, in collaboration with business stakeholders
Profile sourcing group to understand the supply base and analyse and categorise suppliers using appropriate tools
Generate the supplier portfolio by reviewing the potential supply base and establishing a consistent supplier selection process acceptable to all stakeholders
Identify and evaluate potential sourcing strategies; run risk analysis; document sourcing strategies
Execute sourcing strategies and implement collaborative optimisation where appropriate
Select suppliers and lead supplier negotiation
Integrate suppliers, supporting the implementation of new contracts and ensuring efficient change management
Provide suppliers with monthly RFs, annual plans, etc.
Develop jointly-agreed performance measurement framework with suppliers and continuously monitor and improve supplier contracts
Maintain an outward focus on supply base, with pro-active, investigative supply market tracking and receptiveness to innovation and change instigated by suppliers
Create and ensure strong involvement of segment sourcing teams in OD&I activities to promote supply and specification developments in line with business needs and supplier capabilities
Ensure all category sourcing arrangements are fully compliant to all corporate social, environmental and financial risk and HSE, and that requirements such as authority to commit and FSA regulations are fully implemented
Liaise and learn from BIC improvements and by cross referral with other managers to improve the category performance of the team
Assist in developing and promoting standard procurement processes (in collaboration with the Procurement Transformation Manager) and ensure their use within the team

Ensure provision of timely supply market knowledge to the Business, relaying current and future impactful events and their potential consequences. Understand criticality of supply issues and at times of long or short supply, feed into the ILS LBM in all regions the intelligence to allow planning decisions

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
