Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse III specializing in Ophthalmology to join our dynamic healthcare team. As an experienced RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting physicians during ophthalmic procedures, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. You will work in a fast-paced environment that requires excellent clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence and demonstrate an ability to lead and mentor junior staff while continuously advancing their own knowledge in ophthalmic care.


Responsibilities
  • Assist ophthalmologists in surgical and non-surgical procedures with precision and care.
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative care for ophthalmic patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the ophthalmologist efficiently.
  • Provide comprehensive education and instructions to patients regarding eye care and recovery.
  • Lead and mentor junior nursing staff in ophthalmology best practices and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and clinical procedures.
  • Conduct regular equipment checks and ensure all ophthalmic tools are in good working order.
  • Coordinate with surgical teams to optimize patient scheduling and procedure efficiency.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patients conditions to the attending physician immediately.
  • Implement infection control policies to uphold a safe and sterile environment.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and education in ophthalmology nursing.
  • Engage in patient advocacy, ensuring all patient needs and concerns are addressed promptly.

Requirements
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license with a specialization in Ophthalmology.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in an ophthalmic nursing role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to instruct and reassure patients.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records and ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience in mentoring nursing staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
