Roles & Responsibilities
The role of a Registered Nurse III in Ophthalmology is a critical position within the healthcare team that combines advanced clinical expertise with specialized knowledge in eye care. As a RN III, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to patients with a variety of ophthalmic conditions, from routine exams to complex surgical interventions. Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for ophthalmic patients.
- Prepare patients for ophthalmologic procedures and surgeries with precise instructions.
- Monitor changes in patients' conditions and document findings comprehensively.
- Provide education and support to patients and families regarding eye care management.
- Maintain a sterile and organized environment conducive to patient safety.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver care effectively.
- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and surgical procedures professionally.
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff and facilitate their ongoing education.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient care services.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations governing patient care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or related advanced nursing qualification.
- Minimum of three years of nursing experience in an ophthalmology setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of ophthalmic procedures, equipment, and patient care practices.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with the latest nursing practices.
