Roles & Responsibilities
The role of a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Outpatient Department (OPD) is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This position requires a compassionate and skilled professional with a DHA license who is committed to improving patient outcomes. As an RN in OPD, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing nursing care for a diverse range of patients, alongside collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Your role is pivotal in creating a positive patient experience and acting as a key point of contact for patients within the OPD. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, dealing with a variety of medical cases, thus enhancing your skills and expertise. Your proactive approach in supporting patients and their families, along with your ability to educate them about health management, plays a significant role in the outpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial patient assessments to identify their individual health needs.
- Develop personalized care plans in collaboration with patients and their families.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare professionals.
- Manage and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Apply critical thinking in prioritizing patients and handling emergencies effectively.
- Educate patients and their families on disease prevention and health promotion.
- Assist doctors during medical examinations and procedures when necessary.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams in planning and implementing patient care.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe, clean environment.
- Monitor patient progress and document updates in their medical records regularly.
- Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers to facilitate communication.
- Participate in continuous professional development to keep abreast of nursing practices.
Requirements
- Valid DHA license as a Registered Nurse in the United Arab Emirates.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
- Proficient in using electronic health records and other healthcare technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and tact.
