This unit is designed for complex trauma cases requiring rapid intervention and continuous monitoring, supported by cutting-edge technology and a multidisciplinary team.

The Trauma ICU at our client hospital in Riyadh, is a specialised critical care unit dedicated to managing patients with severe traumatic injuries. It operates under the Department of Intensive Care and provides advanced life-support and monitoring for polytrauma cases.

Capacity & Structure

• Dedicated beds for high-acuity trauma patients
• Equipped with advanced monitoring systems and ventilatory support
• Integrated with surgical, orthopaedic, and neurosurgical teams for multidisciplinary care

Patient Population

• Polytrauma patients (multiple injuries)
• Severe head injuries and spinal trauma
• Chest and abdominal trauma
• Post-operative trauma cases requiring intensive monitoring
• Patients with haemorrhagic shock or requiring massive transfusion protocols

Key Interventions & Technologies

• Advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation
• Hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive drug administration
• Massive transfusion and damage-control resuscitation
• Continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) for multi-organ failure
• ICP monitoring for traumatic brain injury
• Early mobilisation and rehabilitation planning
