Job Description

The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at the United Arab Emirates University is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate in the field of concrete technology and structural engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to a research project that focuses on sustainable construction practices through the reuse of environmentally friendly waste materials from various industries. The project explores the potential enhancement of the performance of cement-based composites by incorporating waste materials. The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting experimental and numerical simulations to examine and predict the properties of cementitious composites and evaluate its microstructure.

Minimum Qualification

An appropriate educational degree supplemented with documented evidence to support the following:

  • Master s degree in Civil Engineering (Structures and Materials).
  • Hand-on experience in testing cementitious materials.
  • Familiarity with structural and concrete technology laboratory equipment.
  • Strong background in analyzing and post-processing experimental data.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualification

  • MSc in Civil Engineering (Structures and Materials).
  • Proven publication record in construction applications of cementitious composites.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to meet the evolving needs of research.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
