Roles & Responsibilities
Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Engineer (Bridges). In this role, you will oversee the planning, scheduling, supervision, and administrative authority of field engineering work for bridge construction projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Approve plans as per procedures and DOA matrix.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential issues affecting timelines or quality.
- Follow up on the closure of completed projects.
- Coordinate with the Assets Department to ensure O&M related assets are surveyed and updated.
- Review draft variation and work orders before submission to the Governance team.
- Monitor tendering plans and report progress.
- Participate in tender evaluations for technical departments.
- Perform and manage analysis, design, and documentation of structures, including field investigations and construction phase observations.
- Conduct assessments and evaluations for existing structures.
- Attend meetings with clients, agencies, and other professionals.
- Supervise administrative, technical, and professional staff.
- Develop solutions within budget, schedule, and project constraints.
- Issue reports, schedules, cost estimates, and responses to SOIs/RFPs.
- Review designs prepared by others as part of the TQM process.
- Perform peer reviews, forensic studies, and expert reporting and witness services.
- Direct and monitor the construction supervision team.
- Advise on contractual and construction matters related to bridges/roads maintenance and construction.
- Coordinate with Client/PMC, Contractor, and concerned authorities.
- Comply with safety, health, and risk management requirements.
- Report to SRE/CM or Project Manager as necessary.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- BSc Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in maintenance and construction of structures (bridges & underpasses) and roads in UAE.
- Experience in supervision of major bridges, road, and infrastructure projects in UAE/Gulf region.
- Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
- Arabic speaker
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance Specifications and Statistical Quality Control.
- Understanding of contractual relationships.

- Computer literate with proficiency in engineering and construction software.
