Job Summary
Their primary role is to provide a range of entertainment activities to keep guest happy and entertained in the evenings and throughout the days.
Entertainment acts may include:
Singing and dancing
Stand-up comedy
Playing music
Tribute acts
Must be a confident performer, who is capable of performing in front of, and engaging audiences in live-show activities. Lead and/or perform in Polynesian - themed shows following basic scripts and using improvisation during shows as needed.
May involve performing basic dance routines and singing while dressed in a character costume. Will perform in character costume. Encourage, recruit, register, and schedule guests to participate in various activities. Promote a fun, energized and comfortable atmosphere for guests. Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities and activities, including providing tours. Serve as Host for live events and activities. Explain and promote the rules and regulations of the facility intended for the safety and welfare of guests. Observe activity in the facility and respond appropriately in accordance with local operating procedure in the event of an emergency. Be aware of possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisor/manager. Prepare for show and clean and maintain equipment and supplies. Must have demonstrated experience in previous roles performing the following: accurately and consistently portray the pre-determined style, characteristics and mannerisms of each role without any deviation; perform inside bulky, hot costumes for long periods of time; maintain size and weight requirements based on costume s pre-determined size; work with large quantities of groups and children; stand for extended periods of time.
Essential Functions includes:
•Perform in and/or lead Polynesian-themed live shows using scripted monologue, basic dancing, and singing; improvise as needed during show performance.
•Study and rehearse roles from scripts in order to interpret, learn and memorize lines, stunts, and cues as directed.
•Accurately and consistently portray the predetermined style, characteristics and mannerisms of each role without any deviation
•Assist in operational and administrative duties, including, but not limited to, the daily maintenance of costumes and special events props and gear.
•Facilitate entertainment performances by providing positive service and accurate information to guests.
•Engage and recruit audience and guests to participate during live shows, events and performances
•Work with large quantities of groups and children.
•Treat all children fairly, but pay special attention to newcomers, shy children, physically or mentally challenged children or others with special needs.
•Establish rapport with children and parents; show genuine interest
•Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities, activities, lessons, and equipment.
•Promote a fun, energized and comfortable atmosphere for guests in all recreational activities and areas by expressing an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.
•Register and schedule guests for activities
•Set up stage and take down, props, crafts and activities
