In this role, you would be responsible for the operational and financial success of the department. Controls all operational budgets including buying, operational and variable expenses. Will ensure a smooth and efficient retail operation in the merchandise departments of of the park ensure a smooth operating department in relation to the company core process; thus directly impacting the opening of the leisure facility, delivering the experience and closing the leisure facility.You would be responsible for all aspects of the operations relating to stores and the photo business.
¢ Maintain and develop a strategic growth plan for the department in alignment with Farah and Miral asset management strategic plans.
¢ Ensure actual expenses do not exceed the department budget in order to increase profit.
¢ Actively seek and implement cost saving programs in order to provide positive financial results.
¢ Develop and achieve department and company objectives, action plans and key performance indicators in order to support the company achieving the executive strategic plan.
¢ Promote efficiencies across the business by developing new revenue generating outlets within the budget framework.
¢ Develop and introduce new bespoke merchandise to cater for the strategic business model of the park.
¢ To conduct periodic competition checks and/or benchmarking in order to gain learning and make improvements to enhance business performance.
¢ Poactively assist and/or develop the department budget annually and ensure actual expenses do not exceed the budget in order to increase profit.
¢ Manage the labor budget proactively in order to achieve the most efficient use of labor and reduce costs.
¢ To develop, standardize, assess and review department processes, policies, procedures, forms and reference documents in order to structure the department and assist colleagues in their operational needs.
¢ Would attend training and development programs in order to promote personal and career growth.
¢ Implement strategic inventory management process for the department.
¢ Create and deliver job specific training and competency testing to colleagues or nominate them for training in order to equip them with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to perform their job effectively and deliver out of this world experiences.
¢ Conduct colleague performance appraisals in a timely, fair and constructive manner in order to promote their personal and career growth.
¢ To coach and discipline colleagues in a fair and consistent manner in order to motivate and improve performance
¢ Entertain, engage and empower colleagues in order to reduce turnover and increase retention.
¢ To interview and recommend candidates for available positions while adhering to the UAE labor law and equal employment opportunity policy in order to hire the best suitable candidates for the job.
¢ Be positive, consistent and fair role model at all times, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained while motivating, influencing and supporting others to accomplish personal, department and company goals
¢ To communicate relevant information with colleagues in order to improve internal communication within the department and company.
¢ Understand, follow and enforce all Farah standard operating procedures in order to exceed the operational requirements and ensure guests receive the highest standards of quality and service at all times.
¢ To enforce and adhere to all UAE laws, health, safety & environmental policies, industry and company rules and regulations, reporting any safety concerns or incidents to management in order to minimize risk and maintain a clean safe and hygienic environment for all guests and colleagues.
¢ Manage emergency situations that may arise in order to minimize possible damage, loss or injury to any guests, colleagues or company property.
¢ To represent and promote Farah in a positive manner at all times in order to maintain a professional brand image to all concerned stakeholders.
¢ To enforce leisure facility rules and provide crowd control in a friendly manner throughout the areas as necessary in order to ensure the guest`s safety and an enjoyable experience.
¢ To provide assistance for exclusive use events when needed, and to assist in the preparations of facilities for special functions, themed evenings, etc. in order to contribute to the success of the company.
¢ Maintain building, facilities, equipment and supplies in order to minimize damage, reduce waste and control costs.


Sales / Business Development

Desired Candidate Profile

*As ideal candidate, you should have;
¢ Minimum of 5 years retail leadership
experience in theme parks/hospitality
¢ Prior
experience in leading small to mid-sized to large commercial teams
¢ Prior experience
in product and commercial store development
¢ Knowledge on department budgeting
and P&L
¢ Knowledge on product development and business development
¢ Ideally a Degree
or equivalent in Business Administration
