The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) is a modern, almost 1,000-bed Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited academic medical facility located in Riyadh , the vibrant capital city of Saudi Arabia
Unit Description:
Nurses in the Medical Nephrology, Medical/Surgical Liver &
Renal Transplantation unit at the King Faisal Specialist
Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, function
within a total care nursing system. The 33-bed unit (B-2)
treats both adult and pediatric patients in liver, renal and lung
transplantation:
i) Pre & Post Renal Transplantation:
• Cadaveric transplantation
• Living related/non related transplantation
• Negative cross-match and ABO incompatible transplantation
• Immuno-adsorption
• Therapeutic plasma exchange and plasmapheresis (TPE)
• Infusion of IVIG and anti-thymocyte globulin, Ritimab
• High dependency 1:1 nursing care post transplantation for 24 hours only.
• Cc per Cc fluid replacement and management
iii) Liver Diseases:
• Cadaveric/Orthotopic liver transplantation
• Living related/non related transplantation
• Ca of liver
• Hepatocellular Ca
• Cryptogenic liver cirrhosis
• End stage liver diseases
• Viral hepatitis B & C
• Liver resection
• Infusion of IVIG, anti-thymocyte globulin
• Hepatic encephalopathy
• Pre-liver transplant work-up
iv) Lung Transplant
• Pre and Post-Operative Care
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Associate's degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma
• Current nursing (RN) license in Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand
• A minimum of two years current , full-time experience as a Registered Nurse, working in a mid- to large-sized, acute-care hospital in Canada, the United States, the UK, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand , of which at least one year must be in the specialty area (i.e., solid organ transplant)
The hospital can consider both FEMALE and MALE candidates at this time.
