Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
What You'll Be Doing:
Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction and Maintenance of bridges, viaducts, and tunnels works and associated items.
Work in Close coordination with High level profile client, and ensure seamless Communication.
Coordinate the direct activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, material submittals and other activities including correspondence related to the bridges/structures section and prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.
Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the Engineers, inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
Follow up site activities and conduced Site visits/inspection in coordination with Structural Engineers, and QAQC team.
Convene and chair special meetings with the service authorities, the contractor, subcontractors and other parties related to his work.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.
Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer and the project safety representatives.
Provide all necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer to issue site instructions with respect to Structures works and associated items.
Ensure correctness and completeness of as-built drawings within his line of work.
Keep necessary records and as-built records and take charge of the handing over of the structural works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary final clearance.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university is required.
Minimum of 20 years experience in design/construction supervision of bridges and tunnels. Experience in operation and maintenance of bridges and tunnels is necessary.
Experience in bridge engineering including: design, construction, and maintenance work.
Experience in bridge/tunnel inspection, condition evaluation/assessment, identifying causes of deterioration, and selecting required treatments/actions including preventive, corrective, rehabilitation, and reconstruction works.
Familiar with bridge maintenance management systems.
Should be able to review and justify the method statements, material selections, analyze laboratory and technical reports, ensuring the compliance with the project s specifications.
Experience in report preparation, both detailed & high level.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English with an excellent capability in written technical skills.
Working knowledge of engineering and construction-related processes,
Familiarity with industry practices and local and international design codes.
Familiarity with PC software packages typically associated with structural engineering design, maintenance and construction.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Experience in all aspects of civil supervision and maintenance of bridges and tunnels and infrastructure projects in the Gulf region is preferred.
Engineering consultancy experience within UAE/GCC is preferable.
Able to utilize advanced AI technology to assess and analyze inspection and Maintenance data, maintain records and generate reports.
