Safety Officer ELROI QHSE

A Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, and promoting compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

• Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices.

• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations, client requirements, and company standards.

• Carry out risk assessments and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.

• Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its availability.

• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare detailed reports.

• Maintain safety records, permits, inspection reports, and incident documentation.

• Monitor high-risk activities such as working at heights, lifting operations, excavation work, confined space entry, and hot work.

• Coordinate emergency response procedures, fire drills, and evacuation exercises.

• Ensure safety signages, emergency equipment, and first-aid facilities are maintained and accessible.

• Liaise with project managers, supervisors, clients, and regulatory authorities on safety matters.

• Stop any unsafe work activities that pose immediate danger to personnel, equipment, or the environment.

• Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
