What's the job?
Sales Manager of Sales and Marketing in management of all sales activities and events including direct sales, sales solicitation, sales administration, public relations and management of the sale team. Promotes the desired work culture around the five core values of Trust, Integrity, Respect, One Team and Service of the InterContinental Hotels Group and the brand ethos.
Procures new and repeat business for the hotel by monitoring contact with airlines, travel agencies, commercial houses, private clubs and professional associations within local, domestic UK and international markets.
Maintains contact with planners, corporate accounts, incentive buyers, airlines and wholesalers, through personal sales calls, telephone contacts and written communications.
Under the guidance of your superior, directs all sales activities for Sales Managers and Sales
Executives to ensure they meet the goals of the Revenue Plan.
Establishes and continuously updates mailing lists.
Comply with the Company's Corporate Code of Conduct.
Familiarize yourself with the company values and model desired behaviours.
Plans and executes sales trips to major market areas.
Attends major travel functions to promote sales for the hotel.
Carry out other duties/tasks outside normal routines but within the overall scope of the job.
Qualifications:
Requirements including:
College/University degree certificate or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience,
ability to converse in English fluently - oral and written.
Typically 2-5 years' Hotel experience for assigned function.
Technological experience and a high degree of computer literacy is preferred
Oman or GCC License is a must.
We are looking for someone with strong sales skills with emphasis on effective communication with clients, guests and team members. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills for the purpose of conveying information to internal and external clients & guests, and developing information via written reports and presentations is also high on our list. Demonstrated ability to analyze information for the purpose of accurately maintaining data and reporting trends or inconsistencies and demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in order to maintain accuracy of reporting data is an asset.
