Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day administrative and secretarial support to the Vice Chancellor for Research

• Manage schedules, meetings, and appointments, including preparing meeting minutes and tracking

follow-ups

• Draft and format official correspondence, reports, and documentation

• Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems

• Coordinate internal and external communication across departments, academic units, and external

partners

• Support the planning and execution of research-related events, including GMU Research Day, training

sessions, and meetings

• Assist in managing research funding programs, such as the Thumbay International Research Grant and

GMU Internal Research Grant

• Provide clerical support for Institutional Review Board (IRB) operations, including documentation and

meeting scheduling

• Help coordinate the PhD program and researcher training activities under the Thumbay Research

Institute for Precision Medicine (TRIPM)

• Monitor, compile, and disseminate national and international research funding calls


• Facilitate documentation and communication related to international collaboration and industry-

academic research partnerships


• Support documentation and tracking related to clinical trials and research initiatives involving

university hospitals

• Maintain research-related databases, track project deadlines, and ensure accurate record-keeping

• Ensure smooth office operations through effective management of supplies, logistics, and workflow

Desired Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Health Administration, Science or related discipline)

Minimum of 3 years' experience in administration, academic coordination, or similar roles

Experience in a higher education or healthcare research environment is preferred
