Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversee the meticulous preparation of the annual revenue and expenditure budget, ensuring alignment with organizational strategic goals and financial targets.
- Direct the analysis of financial performance, identifying key variances and providing insightful recommendations for corrective actions and improved efficiency.
- Lead the timely and accurate processing of all revenue and expenditure transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Manage the reconciliation of bank statements, accounts, and other financial records, resolving discrepancies and maintaining data integrity.
- Supervise the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, offering clear and concise financial insights.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Develop and oversee the department’s revenue and expenditure plans in alignment with the ministry's strategic goals, ensuring efficient allocation and use of financial resources.
- Supervise the implementation of policies and procedures for revenue collection, ensuring timely and accurate collection of fees, fines, and other income sources.
- Review and approve spending and payment requests within authorized limits, ensuring compliance with government procurement and financial regulations.
- Analyze variances from the approved budget, review periodic performance reports, and submit financial reports to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
- Ensure internal financial controls are in place to safeguard revenues and prevent overspending, in line with federal laws and international accounting standards.
- Identify opportunities for financial process enhancements, lead change management initiatives, and ensure the department meets its human resource and capability development needs.
