The Senior Accountant is responsible in the supervision and accurate execution of the hotel s finance systems, controls and adherence to Occidental Hotel s policies and procedures.
Assist the Financial Controller in providing support on financial matters to the management, including the interpretation of financial figures and data
Ensure a smooth operation of the department through organization and administration
Responsible in maintaining a focused system of internal controls along with Financial Controller, which will provide an effective and efficient control over the hotel s assets, liabilities, revenues and costs
Handle reconciliation and checking of accounts before month end closing
Responsible for preparing daily and monthly financial related report, inventory variation report, month end closing reports and journal voucher report
Ensures that accurate bookkeeping is administered including:
- Verification of guest ledger balance/city ledger
- Check the total of all house fund receipts and its agreement with the amount booked in the general ledger
- Budget control pertaining to the capital investment budget
- Updating of the insurance register, prepaid expenses, deferred charges and income
- Daily banking confirmation
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- Bank A/C reconciliation and updating
Coordinate with Financial Controller and Human Resources Department for payroll related matters
Assist the Financial Controller in reviewing hotel s cost analysis on a daily basis to ensure costs are in line with budgeted and forecasted figures; assist and advise on the control of hotel expense
Assist in the liaison with internal and external audit
Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts
Participate in the monthly, quarterly and year end inventories
Perform any other tasks assigned
