Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AIX Administrator to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience managing IBM AIX operating systems in enterprise environments, with a focus on stability, performance, security, and high availability. This position is well-suited for an IT professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and can collaborate effectively with cross-functional IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
System Installation & Configuration:
Install, configure, and maintain IBM AIX operating systems and related hardware.
Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
Continuously monitor system performance and implement tuning measures to ensure optimal efficiency.
Security Management:
Apply security patches and updates.
Manage access control, user permissions, and enforce system integrity standards.
Backup & Recovery:
Design, implement, and manage robust backup and recovery strategies.
Ensure data protection and minimal downtime in case of failures.
Troubleshooting & Support:
Diagnose and resolve system, hardware, and application-related issues.
Provide advanced support for escalated incidents.
User & Storage Management:
Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions.
Configure and optimize storage, including file systems and volume management.
High Availability:
Ensure uptime and reliability for mission-critical applications.
Participate in planning and implementation of
HA/DR solutions.
Collaboration:
Work closely with network, storage, application, and security teams.
Support seamless IT operations across multiple domains.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
6 8 years of proven experience as an AIX Administrator in enterprise environments.
Strong expertise with IBM AIX operating systems and administration tools.
Hands-on experience in system performance tuning, patching, backup and recovery.
Strong shell scripting skills for automation and process optimization.
Solid understanding of AIX hardware and software ecosystems.
Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach.
