Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

strong>What You ll Lead and Deliver/strong> :

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of APC projects including Kick-Off, FDS/DDS, and MAT phases.
  • Execute inferential model development based on site data, process knowledge, and product property specs.
  • Plan and execute dynamic step tests to support model identification.
  • Perform fine-tuning of controller parameters and periodic recalibration.
  • Integrate APC with DCS (Foxboro/Yokogawa), Aspen IP.21/PI historians, and optimization tools (Aspen GDOT, DMC3, PACE).
  • Manage cybersecure APC/RTO architecture following IT/OT policy (OPC, Fortinet, DMZ).
  • Oversee commissioning, MAT/SAT, dashboards, and performance reports.
  • Deliver benefit guarantee audits and post-implementation impact validation.

Desired Candidate Profile

strong>To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:/strong>

strong>Experience: /strong>15+ years in refinery/petrochemical APC implementation.

strong>Education:/strong> Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering or related

strong>Competencies:/strong>

  • Proficiency in AspenTech DMC3, GDOT, PACE, and RTO tools.
  • Inferential property model building and validation expertise.
  • Strong grasp of feedback/feedforward, constraint override, and tuning strategies.
  • RTO integration with APC, including planning/scheduling systems (PIMS).
  • Benefit guarantee delivery with post-audit verification.
  • Perform fine-tuning and periodic recalibration of APC controllers based on process shifts, updated lab data, or drift in inferential
  • Design and implement advanced control structures, including feedback, feedforward, and cascade loops for dynamic process optimization.
  • Collaborate with planning, scheduling, and operations teams to align HRTO targets with refinery-wide optimization goals.
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and model tuning specific to HRTO process requirements (e.g., heat duty, temperature crossovers).
  • Integrate Digital Twin with APC and RTO systems for coordinated optimization of utilities and process units.
