Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsible of aiding the development of a robust governance framework in order to ensure an efficient and effective governance and compliance framework is institutionalized as per international standards and industry best practices.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support in the implementation and maintenance of OIA s Code of Governance, policies and guidelines and related risk management framework.
- Develop of the governance framework including development of governance policy proposals to ensure continuous enhancement of governance practices.
- Design and oversee a comprehensive annual governance and compliance programs for OIA.
- Identify and assess governance and compliance risks across OIA operations.
- Monitor and proactively report compliance status and breaches.
- Ensure awareness and understanding of all application of laws, regulations, and government/internal policies.
- Regular review and reassessment of established policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Investigate and report compliance breaches and suspected fraud cases.
- Implement standard corporate governance practices and promote the embedding of adequate governance culture in all OIA to increase the success rate for financial performance and enhance sustainability within OIA entities.
- Coordinate with the OIA concerned committees about governance issues to ensure the streamlining of governance operations.
- Coordinate and support the compliance team on governance related matters to ensure compliance items meet OIA s Code of Governance.
- Provide governance support as required by OIA entities and recommend governance exemptions to ensure governance requirements can be met.
- Support the OIA Entities on governance related matters to ensure compliance items meet OIA s Code of Governance.
- Development and implementation of the automated governance system to ensure a streamlined and controlled process of operations.
- Conduct of the annual review of the Code of Governance, Policies and Guidelines compliance checklist for OIA companies and report irregularities to the Manager Governance and Compliance to ensure gaps are captured and addressed.
- Oversee in the arrangement for Board evaluation and review for OIA Companies to ensure a comprehensive review is undertaken.
- Manage the development, communication and implementation of the Governance and Compliance department s policies and procedures to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are clearly communicated and duly fulfilled.
- Conduct awareness sessions on Code of Governance and governance guidelines to promote governance best practices.
- Comply with the implementation of the Governance Department policies and procedures, to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled.
- Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements, in order to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
- Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account leading best practices , improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.
Desired Candidate Profile
Bachelor s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, or similar fields
- FRM, PRM, CA, CPA or ACCA are Advantage
- 8 to 10 years of work experience in an investment environment.
- Fluency in English is essential
- Fluency in Arabic is advantageous
- Proficiency in MS Office is essential (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience with business related software is desirable
