JOB PURPOSE
Persuade and take direction from others in completing Financial Services advisory tasks and assignments. With increased experience, take ownership and delivers a high standard of own work. Actively seek out work from more senior team members and begin to execute defined activities. Begin to build knowledge of the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
Engagement and Project Delivery
Complete Financial Services Advisory tasks and deliverables to a high standard as part of client engagements - working to an agreed plan, budget and quality.
Identify and appropriately document Financial Services Advisory risks, issues, and their conclusions and consults with appropriate team members as necessary.
Escalate risks and issues beyond own experience or skill set.
Keep senior team members informed of significant developments and progress on the engagement.
Identify problems and suggests an initial approach to problem solving.
Start to develop external network and build knowledge of industry, market trends, competitor activity and products/services.
Contribute to and/or collates case studies, proposals and best practice to share knowledge across the firm.
Project & Quality Management
Undertake professional qualification and technical training within required timescale (where applicable). Build on professional qualification by undertaking relevant functional or sector specific training.
Partake review (s) on completion of projects to identify lessons learned and enhance future quality and commercial planning.
Execute projects to a level that meet member firm s quality standards within a commercial context.
Communicate risks and issues early to Leaders as appropriate.
People Responsibilities
Meet firm deadlines during Performance Development cycles, including: seeking quality feedback, setting goals, providing input into engagement/project reviews and having regular conversations with Performance Manager, to a standard Expected under Open Performance Development.
Accurately charge time to engagement codes to see true value of work delivered.
Start to establish networks with clients and across relevant professional bodies and associations and participate in internal and external professional activities to develop this network.
Share knowledge with other KPMG colleagues/teams and contribute to the development of knowledge resources.
May assist new starters.
Perform other responsibilities and tasks as directed by the director supervisor to meet objectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Qualifications
Bachelor s degree/Master s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting with a focus banking and financial services.
Professional Certifications Preferred
Qualified chartered/management accountant
CPA/CA/CMA
Years of Experience
Minimum of 3 - 6 years of relevant experience with at least 1-2 years in a similar role.
Nature of
Experience
Experience in supporting in bids and executing projects related to strategy and operations within management consulting assignments with Financial services clients
Knowledge and preferably experience of working with New Age solutions in financial services to include digital banking, AI, machine learning, customer experience etc.
Experience and good knowledge in one or additional FS domains such as banking, insurance, asset management etc. Preference will be given to commercial banking experience with a focus on retail/corporate/treasury/SME etc.
Knowledge and experience in working with leading methodologies such as lean/cost optimisation/revenue enhancement etc.
Knowledge and experience in working both with private sector and/or public financial institutions
Work experience with Big 4/Strategy houses/Boutique firms and or internal consulting role within large and prestigious organisations
